The BFG by Roald Dahl

The BFG
Recommended for 6.5+ years

I love this book because... it is HUMOROUS, ENTERTAINING and SWEET

The BFG is a good read because it takes you the world of giants. Sophie the protagonist of the story gets robbed by a giant called the BFG. They become great friends and catch all the bad giants and take them to the queen and buries them in a pit. The BFG is the dream catching giant, he actually catches dreams and gives everyone dreams at night!! Whatever dreams he gives come true! It is a beautiful story about a lovely friendship between Sophie and the BFG. The language is funny and heart-warming. The way the Big speaks made me laugh and also cry sometimes. All the funny names of the giants are difficult to pronounce, they are like tongue twisters! One of the dialogues from the book that I really liked is "Meanings is not important, said the BFG. I cannot be right all the time. Quite often I is left instead of right".
This books made me Roald Dahl's biggest fan and I just love his imagination and his way of seeing different worlds. It made me realise that giants can also exist with us, we human beings are not the only ones in this universe! I took only 1.5 days to finish this book as I just couldn't put it down!!

New words I learnt- Rotten, Phenomenal, Distressed, Snoozling, Pierced

Note to Mommies- Don't make the children miss out on the Roald Dahl series! Buy the entire collection. Mommies beware, your child may forget to each breakfast, lunch or dinner while reading and may eventually become the giant's breakfast!!! so please keep feeding your child while he/she is reading!!
